Robert Greubel, extremely gifted in the field of micromechanical engineering, started repairing watches in his father’s workshop. After earning a watchmaking degree, he discovered the field of high horology and graduated from the Watchmakers School in Dreux, France. He then joined IWC and took part in the development of The Grand Complication. Then, he became joint Managing Director of Renaud & Papi, today an affiliate company of Audemars Piguet. In 1992, he met the English watchmaker Stephen Forsey who initially worked for Asprey in restoring antique watches. It was in Switzerland, with Robert Greubel that he came to excel in grandes sonneries, minute repeaters, tourbillons and perpetual calendars. In 2004, they co-founded “Greubel Forsey”.
